If you are using Platon off-line from the internet or off very slow internet links, it can be more effective to point platon to use the HTML files installed on the local computer.

The information on how to do this is also on the Platon Website. Including setting other environment variables.

"PLAHTM for setting the PLATON HTML menu tree to the root of a local copy (as opposed to over the internet)."

In the case of the UNIX csh

setenv PLAHTM /directory_path_to_platon_help_files/

e.g.,:

setenv PLAHTM /usr/local/help/platon/

Updates of the Platon Help System in HTML format.

Install using the command:

gzip -d < platon_html.tar.gz | tar xvof -
