The primary FTP site for Ghostscript is

Start by reading the README file in ghostscript-5.10.tar.gz.
It is also worthwhile having the

A precompiled version for RedHat Linux 5.1 is available from
ghostscript-5.10-1.i386.rpm

Aladdin Ghostscript 5.10 is available precompiled for the Mac
