Materials research is interested in the synthesis of new materials, especially bioinorganic materials, with useful shapes, structures and properties. One goal, amongst many, is the formation of magnetic proteins for magnetic resonance imaging. We are also interested in the self-assembly of nanostructures and organised mesoporous materials. Additional information can be found on Professor Mann's Materials Research Group home page.
