The files in the directory "general" have been tested on SGI/IRIS,
IBM/AIX and DEC/Ultrix systems. They should install successfully on
SUN/OS and SOLARIS as well.
Follow the instructions in the Howto file.  
For Linux choose the files in the specific directory provided.
I am still working on the HP UX version.
