Known Problems and Bugs
- MOTPLOT ( and all other motif 1.2 based programs ) cause the Sun X server
xnews to crash. This is fixed in OpenWindows 3.3 which comes with Solaris
2.3. If you are not able to upgrade to Solaris 2.3 then you should try to
use the MIT X server Xsun.
- On some Pericom X terminals MOTPLOT only works the first time you login
after a reboot. This mysterious problem seems to be in some way
connected with font allocation but has not yet been completely tied down.
- On some Pericom X terminals MOTPLOT causes everything to stop after a
while. This appears to be caused by running out of memory. It can
usually be fixed by changing the X parameters of the terminal so that
Backing Store and Saves Under are switched off.
- On some Silicon Graphics displays the colours used by MOTPLOT are
lacking in contrast. In a future release colours will be under user control
