Operations on the X values of Spectra

For a general introduction to operations select Operations from the help menu of the operations dialog.

The X-values operation dialog consist of:

• an OPTION MENU which is used to select an operation. ( See the general introduction for information on using Option Menus. )
  
  
• a TEXT AREA in which the number(s) of the spectrum to be operated on is typed
  
  
• a TEXT AREA in which the value to be added to, subtracted from ( or whatever ) the X-values is specified
  
  

Operation

To choose an operation:

• select it from the option menu
  
  
• To choose a spectrum to be operated on:
  
  
• type a spectrum number ( or numbers ) into the relevant text area
  
  

OR

select one or more spectra from the List of Spectra

To set the value to be used in the operation:

edit the relevant text area

To carry out the operation:

click the left mouse button on the "Operate" button

OR

press RETURN when the Operate button is the default button

Carrying out an operation causes a new spectrum to appear in the 'List of Spectra'.
